Living a healthy lifestyle is very important. If you don’t you will face the consequences later on in your life. It gives you a greater chance of living long as it reduces your risk of diseases.

There are many things that health specialists recommend to remain healthy and it can be quite confusing. However, there are some things that they all say which we will break down here.

A Wide Variety Of Foods

Instead of eating the same meal every day, we advise you to consume a mixture of foods throughout the week. That ensures you are getting all of the nutrients that you need to be healthy. Ensure you have enough protein, carbohydrates and fruit and vegetables (5 a day) to ensure you have a well-balanced diet.

Replace Unhealthy Fats With The Healthy Versions

A common myth about staying healthy is that you shouldn’t eat fatty foods, although that is fairly true, the term fats is broad. What you should do is reduce the amount of saturated fats that you consume on a day-to-day basis. Instead, choose healthier versions such as Fish and Nuts. It is also advised that you reduce the amount of oil you use when cooking food. Instead, use healthier oils such as 1 cal spray oil. You should also consider boiling/ baking your food instead of frying it. This is a great way to reduce the amount of saturated fat you are consuming.

Consume Plenty Of Fruit and Vegetables

You must aim for your five-a-day when it comes to your diet. Fruit and vegetables are essential for our diet as they offer the most vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, it is easy to add them to our diet. Aim for at least two different vegetables for your main meal in the evening. Aim for two fruits during your lunch and then have a glass of orange or cranberry juice in the morning. That way, you are ensuring you are consuming enough fruit and vegetables for the day.

Plenty Of Exercises

Exercise is also very important when it comes to staying healthy. No matter how old you are, you should at least do some form of exercise. That could include going to the gym and lifting weights whilst wearing your favourite pair of seamless leggings. You could also go on a run or have a dip in the swimming pool for an hour. Your options are endless for exercising so there is no excuse not to exercise. There is an exercise for everyone.

It is advised that people aim for 150 minutes of exercise per week. That is 30 minutes a day which is not a lot when you break it down like that. Plus, it gives you a chance to rest up at the weekend.

Running

Although running might not be for everyone, some form of cardio is important during the week. It ensures that you burn any excess calories. Additionally, it helps improve your cardiovascular system, improves your resting heart rate and gives you a larger lung capacity. So, go put on your women’s gymwear and get yourself out there for a run or a light jog.
